Dubai’s Moro Hub Advances Construction of New Green Data Centre

Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, is developing the first phase of a solar-powered Green Data Centre in Dubai’s Warsan district, reinforcing Dubai’s push toward sustainable, future-ready digital infrastructure.

The project was recently inspected by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), who reviewed construction progress and endorsed the awarding of the project’s second phase. The facility marks Moro Hub’s fourth green data centre, underscoring its commitment to digital sustainability and its role in supporting the UAE’s digital transformation agenda.

Spanning more than 66,000 square metres and designed to deliver a total capacity exceeding 100 megawatts, the Green Data Centre is scheduled to launch its first phase in the second half of this year. Once operational, it will provide advanced cloud computing and cloud-hosting services aligned with the highest global standards for efficiency and sustainability.

During the visit, Al Tayer was accompanied by Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman – Digital and Group CEO of Digital DEWA, and Mohammad Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub. He highlighted that the project reflects the visionary leadership of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, integrating clean energy and artificial intelligence to position the UAE as both a creator and consumer of advanced technology.

Al Tayer noted that the Warsan Green Data Centre will strengthen Dubai’s standing as a global hub for sustainable digital solutions by offering advanced infrastructure and an attractive environment for international and local technology companies. The project also demonstrates how technological advancement can be aligned with environmental preservation to support the UAE’s green economy ambitions.

The facility is being developed in collaboration with specialised data centre engineering and advisory firms, delivering end-to-end lifecycle support from strategy and design through commissioning and operations. The integrated approach ensures resilient, sustainable and AI-ready digital infrastructure in line with global best practices.
