Advania Acquires Gompute To Enhance AI And HPC Capabilities

Advania has acquired Gompute, a high-performance computing (HPC) and AI infrastructure platform, from Nordic data center services leader atNorth. The acquisition includes Gompute’s skilled teams in Sweden and Spain, who will continue their work as part of Advania Sweden. This strengthens Advania Sweden’s market position while enabling clients to meet strict data sovereignty requirements. The transaction is pending regulatory approval and is expected to close during the third quarter of 2025.

Gompute delivers a complete, full stack solution for demanding HPC and AI workloads through private cloud services and scalable computing clusters. It serves enterprise clients in sectors including financial services, automotive, and computer-aided engineering (CAE).

Gompute customers will now benefit from Advania’s broader AI capabilities, including strategic advisory and implementation, while continuing to receive the same high-performance infrastructure, integrated software environment, end-user support, service levels and technical specifications they trust. Industries that depend on HPC for research, development and innovation will also continue to rely on Gompute for compute-intensive workloads, now backed by Advania’s broader service portfolio, local presence and focus on sustainable and secure digitalisation.

“As AI adoption accelerates across industries, organizations need infrastructure that meets both performance and regulatory demands,” said Henrik Foyn-Laukvik, Head of M&A at Advania. “With Gompute, we can deliver those capabilities in-region, on-demand and under full client control, ensuring regulatory compliance without compromising performance. We are committed to growing Gompute’s role as a trusted HPC platform while expanding its AI potential.

Speaking about Advania’s continued AI growth trajectory, CEO Hege Störe highlighted the strategic importance: “AI isn’t slowing down, and neither are we. We live for our clients to succeed, and we’re excited to help them make the most of AI capabilities with the infrastructure, expertise, and sovereignty they need to move forward with confidence. Exciting things are happening across the entire AI landscape, and we’re positioning ourselves to help our clients capitalize on every opportunity.”

“Driven by continued growing demand for atNorth’s services, we are sharpening our focus on high-density colocation and build-to-suit data centers,” said Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, CEO of atNorth. “Gompute has played a key role in our HPC journey, and its evolution with Advania marks an exciting next chapter. Advania’s AI-ready sovereign cloud vision aligns seamlessly with the platform, and hosting it in our high-density data centers will enhance our strategic partnership and deliver a powerful solution for the market’s evolving needs.”
