India’s Reliance Jio to set up $142 m Data Center

India’s fastest growing service provider, Reliance Jio announced that it is planning to set up a new data center in Kolkata in the eastern part of the country at an approximate investment of over $142 million.

In a tweet from the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee expressed her delight and said, “We are happy that Reliance Group is setting up a new state-of-art Data Centre in Kolkata.”

Reliance Jio, part of the Reliance group is believed to have shortlisted and applied to build the data center on 40 acres of land. The company is the latest entrant in the industry but has captured big chunk of market share in no time with over 200 million subscribers.
