NTT Data Joins Climate Pledge Initiative

NTT DATA has announced its commitment to The Climate Pledge, a groundbreaking initiative co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019.

The pledge sets an ambitious target for companies to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, a full decade ahead of the Paris Agreement’s goal of 2050.

More than 560 organizations have now signed The Climate Pledge, sending an important signal that there will be rapid growth in demand for products and services that help reduce carbon emissions.

Signatories agree to:

  • Measure and report greenhouse gas emissions: Regularly track and report their greenhouse gas emissions to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Implement decarbonization strategies: Make real business changes and innovate to reduce carbon emissions, including by improving energy efficiency, using renewable energy and reducing material usage.
  • Neutralize remaining emissions: Use additional, quantifiable, real, permanent and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.

“We are running out of time to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, and the future demands bold action,” said Abhijit Dubey, CEO of NTT DATA, Inc. “At NTT DATA, Inc., sustainability is embedded in our DNA, and we believe it is a shared responsibility. By joining The Climate Pledge, we are committing to accelerated action and innovation to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. We are excited to collaborate with the global community of signatories to share knowledge and best practices to build a better future for the generations to come.”
